Some ideas...
We're regularly asked what other people are doing - what's most popular? should I do dogs? do you have a set I can just buy?
If you're stuck for ideas, here are a few of our most popular "styles" of playing cards - don't forget to put in that little extra effort for a truly personal touch:
- Family members: why not build up your family tree? If you haven't got very far, you can always put one family member on each card; if you've a large family tree, you could have husband+wife and even include the children on each one! For the daring, why not include statistics on things like laziness, reliability smelliness and niggle-factor?
- Work colleagues: guaranteed to raise a laugh at work - especially if you manage to take your photos unexpectedly or without them knowing! Use as a performance booster - perhaps with each person's targets (or missed targets) for the year? Maybe include things like "most likely to turn up at" or "number of fag breaks per day"!
- Hobbies: fond of fishing? birdwatching? Maybe you know someone who collects bottle tops? You can use anything that you (or someone else if you're buying as a gift) find interesting.
Choose any topic that you can apply a series of statistics to (you can have four, five or six lots of statistics on each card). Try to "think outside the box" and remember that your statistics don't even need to be accurate - you can even make them up or make them as subjective as you like.
Just remember to keep your playing cards personal to yourself or whomever is going to receive them.
You can use images found all over the internet - a quick and easy way to build up a library of photos - but if you're making custom playing cards to give to someone as a gift, you can't beat using your own photos. You might decide, for the music lover in your house, to put their favourite album covers on a pack playing cards. These are easily found on the internet - but using a photo of their battered old 12-inch LP and maybe a few items of clothing from that era, now that's personal! Obvious statistics could be "number of tracks on the album" or "total playing time" - but for a truly personal flavour, what about "irritability factor" or "sing-along rating"?
